We have been really busy recently as foliage season is coming up at our Vermont B&B and of course, that has led to our neglecting our beer duties (if you can call them that).

So we were floored to get this video from one of our awesome beer friends Steve, who shot his own here for the beer episode while he was in NYC at the BXL Belgian Pub.

We haven’t been to the BXL yet ourselves, but after this video it certainly seems like the kind of place we should make a point to visit. The atmosphere seems like the kind of place we would dig and New York is only a 3 hour train ride away.

Thank you to Steve and friends (and Matt – the BXL beverage manager for making an appearance). We appreciate you helping us out and being “there” for the beer!

It’s winter in Vermont. So even a honest to goodness Corona fan probably wouldn’t crack one open in our 4 degree weather. Cheese Discriminator

Victory Brewing Company posted this video today that we shot when they were up visiting Vermont prior to their big debut. We were lucky enough to get to sample some of these delicious cheeses paired with Victory‘s beers. Of course, in the video I also reveal myself as a cheese discriminator, but I promise to work on that, especially after the great pairing.

Beer Gear Halloween Special Presents the Franken-Brewery

In honor of Halloween, we present this weeks “Beer Gear” segment – what could only be described as one awesome franken-brewery. The video isn’t great and goes for over 10 minutes – but it will only take a few seconds to get the gist of this thing. The builder, Duane Woytonik from Central CA says he is up for pulling it on a trailer to your place if you’re looking for a sure-fire way to impress your beer geek friends. Monster vs Vermonster – the Battle Continues

Run Tellman Run is Here for the Beer!

Our friend Tellman is running across the country BAREFOOT to raise 100 million dollars for charity, fighting teenage homelessness. As if that story doesn’t sound crazy enough, he took the time to run his way into the Yuengling brewery in Pottsville Pennsylvania to give us a shout out.

Tellman is from our town in Vermont and we have had the pleasure of hanging out with him and his family on many occasions. Knowing some of his life story, a story filled with challenges that he has overcome, makes this challenge and effort even more impressive.

We suggest you check out Run Tellman Run and donate to this worthy cause. We will certainly be keeping an eye on the trip and wish Tellman and his crew tons of luck on their barefoot cross country voyage.

Cheers to you and best of luck on the run. You have certainly earned each of your beers along the way!

I am a home brewer parody video

Actually, I am torn as to call this a parody – it’s more of a tribute. If you recall the video from the Craft Brewers Conference that was put together by the folks at Stone Brewing, these home brewers took it upon themselves to make their own version celebrating home brewing.

While we get our act together and get back to making our videos, we thought we would give a shout out to the home brewers who clearly put a lot of time and effort into these 4 minutes.

We were lucky enough to be able to attend the Craft Brewers Conference in Boston this year. We have been getting a ton of great footage and will have a few fun episodes coming out soon from here. In the interim we wanted to share this, a cool montage, shot for the keynote address which was presented by Greg Koch. (On a seperate note, check this out – he actually “tweeted” a photo of himself giving the speach here!) The brewers in the video all worked together to brew a beer for this event. The video and the beer couldn’t be more symbolic of the amazing camradarie that exists in this industry. Over the past few days we have seen brewers from all over the world sharing stories and pints as they discuss the ins and outs of that beverage we all know and love…beer. Its truly inspirational and we believe that a many other industries could learn a thing or two from the craft brewing world.

BeerAdvocate Extreme Beer Fest 2009

Beer Advocate defines extreme beer as a beer that pushes the boundaries of brewing. Their 6th annual extreme beer fest was held in Boston, MA on February 20 & 21, 2009. Those who were able to attend found some intense offerings.

Sadly for us, we missed the EBF this year as it was a busy weekend at the inn. Fortunately another beer advocate captured some footage of the event. So in this video you can follow Buzz (Yesac at BA) as he goes unscripted into the world of extreme beer. Interviews of attendees, breweries, and founder of Beeadvocate.com, Jason Alström.
