stouterik

I am not sure who Erik is, or if he was in fact a short fat man  – but what I am certain of is that he is bitter and a bit dry.

As a matter of fact, Erik here was a bit drier than I would like.   A little bit smoky and some flavor of burnt brown sugar in there.  I would even go so far as to say a bit sour.  An interesting Belgian spin on an Irish style.  That’s because Stouterik is brewed by the folks at Brasserie De La Senne / De Zenne Brouwerij in Belgium.  Yes, I cut and pasted the brewery name from a real beer site because I didn’t even feel like trying to figure out what it says.

I will give the Stouterik props for being reasonable in ABV, making this drinkable on a rainy Sunday afternoon – but as for the important question of  would I have another?  Maybe  if you were buying…
