We tried a Abner IPA – Imperial / Double by Hill Farmstead Brewery at Whetstone Station Restaurant and Brewery in Brattleboro, VT. Juicy, tropical, bright – one of my favorite NE style DIPAs.
Abner (1867-1953) is our great grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his fourteen children. In his honor, this imperial pale ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Abner’s well. It is unfiltered and double dry hopped. Aromatic and flowery, bursting with notes of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Abner..

Our Rating:
Please note that we don’t really “rate” beers. We are beer geeks, not beer snobs. There’s a time and place for almost every beer. But…
For our own purposes we use the following system:
4 = We would definitely order another of this beer
5 = We would go out of our way to find another of this beer.
