Most people probably look for seafood when visiting Key Largo. I, however, was in the mood for a good beer and a burger. That’s search led us to Category Three Bar and Grill. No oceanfront view. No tiki bar. Not even a website! But holy ground beef, these guys have nailed the stuffed burger.

Category Three Restaurant
They offer a dozen or so stuffed burger options here, stuffed with things like pulled pork and whiskey soaked bacon or more traditional mushrooms and cheese. I went for the Bogart, which is a burger stuffed with bourbon soaked bacon and a bourbon pineapple sauce. It was cooked perfectly and just as delicious as it sounds. With a side of their German potato salad, it was an excellent accompaniment to the Darwins on 4th Brewery SummaDayze IPA, a fresh and funky brew from a brewery up in Sarasota Florida.

Category Three Craft Drafts
The craft beer list at Category Three isn’t huge, but with beers from Darwins on 4th, Oskar Blues, Orlando Brewing and Islamorada Beer Company, they certainly represent one of the better craft lists in the Key Largo area.
So if you find yourself in Key Largo and craving an amazing burger, Category Three is where it’s at.
