The top two beers in this category separated themselves from the pack. Baby Drop was clearly a favorite in this category, with a slight deviation from style. A nice burst of coffee up front really distinguished this beer from the pack. Congrats to @Badger_Alum1 for a really successful homebrew. Samual Smiths, which really sets the benchmark for the style, had a touch of sweetness that was kept in check by the other malts. Overall really solid brew. The Ale Asylum version, which technically is a chocolate oatmeal stout, was completely overran by sweetness. The creaminess that The Poet was able to achieve was actually quite remarkable and is exactly what I love about the style. The Rogue brew was just not good from front to back, too thin, odd bitterness, just a miss.
