We tried a Waypost Anniversary Imperial Stout Stout – Imperial / Double by The Virginia Beer Company at The Virginia Beer Company in Williamsburg, VA.
A big offering to celebrate a big milestone: the 2-year anniversary of The Virginia Beer Company! Originally released in March 2017 for VBC’s 1-year anniversary, Waypost Anniversary Imperial Stout returns in March 2018 for Waypost Week!
A dark base blending hefty amounts of Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, and Midnight Wheat creates a robust, jet black beer softened with additions of Flaked Oats. Waypost is inextricably linked to its barrel-aged variants, Waypost: Black, Waypost: Red, and Waypost: Purple, by unifying accents of chocolate on the finish.
Grain Bill: 2 Row, Munich, Chocolate Malt, Victory, Flaked Oats, Roasted Barley, Midnight Wheat, and Crystal 60. Hops: Columbus and East Kent Golding..

Our Rating:
Please note that we don’t really “rate” beers. We are beer geeks, not beer snobs. There’s a time and place for almost every beer. But…
For our own purposes we use the following system:
4 = We would definitely order another of this beer
5 = We would go out of our way to find another of this beer.
