Moan and Dove – Changing of the Guard

VIDEO – We are really lucky to have such a killer beer bar within a short drive of us and our Inn. So we were admittedly nervous when started hearing rumors of “the Dove” being sold. I am sure all of the Moan and Dove regulars shared our sigh of relief when we heard that the bar was being sold to Jason “Di-Cap” DiCaprio, long time bartender and generally awesome guy.

So as of last night, it’s official. After nearly a year of disasters, where everything that could go wrong did – the Moan and Dove has now officially changed hands. The previous owner, Daniel, has moved on to the city (Boston) and has opened a new beer bar in the old b-side lounge which we can’t wait to check out.

We stopped into the extremely crowded Moan and Dove for the “changing of the guard” celebration and shot this quick video with our flip video camera (hence the less than wonderful quality). It was great to see the area beer community out in support of Di-Cap and the Dove.

In the video Jason shares his story about his history at the Dove and the transfer of ownership. He also emphasizes that the Moan and Dove is what it is because of the wonderful and passionate beer community that makes it possible.

Congratulations Jason from us at Here for the Beer. We look forward to many great pints (and eventually earning our mugs) at the Moan and Dove. Cheers!

  3. I’m a Flip Mino cam owner and use it for my “man vs wild” style videos. Sure, it’s not the top of the line video cam but it gets the job done. I love the Flip. Pair with with a good video editor and that’s all you need. Hardest part for me is holding the camera steady. Still for the price it’s a nice little device.

Love it when the average joe’s take a chance and run a good beer bar. Wish there were more of those all across the country.

  4. Hey Dave, sorry your comment got stuck in the spam queue… We love the flip, just wish it had an image stabilizer and a microphone input – then it would be complete! It works wonders in the daylight, but doesn’t fare as well in a dimly lit bar at night, and ironically that is when we most often want to use it. BTW we like the new look of your site – very clean and bright. Cheers!

  5. Sorry I missed the “Changing of the Guard” Jason, I had a nasty cold and did’nt want to share it..

  6. I leave a leave a response each time I like a post on a website or I have something to valuable to contribute to the discussion. Usually it is a result of the sincerness communicated in the article I looked at. And on this post Moan and Dove &. I was excited enough to drop a thought :-P I actually do have 2 questions for you if you usually do not mind. Is it just me or do some of the comments appear like written by brain dead people? :-P And, if you are posting on other places, I’d like to follow you.
