We tend to consider the campgrounds we stay at as not much more than a place to park and connect for some power and water. After all most of our time is spent outside, on a bike, exploring a town or of course, checking out breweries and brewpubs. But occasionally we splurge for a nice spot to make camp for a few days. Point of View RV Resort in Key Largo was one of those splurges.
When I spend as much as a hotel room for what amounts to essentially a parking space, I certainly have high expectations. This resort delivered on nearly every level. The sites are all gravel, separated by hedges. The hookups are new and well maintained, as is the entire campground. But really, the reason this is the first campground we’ve taken the time to write about, the amazing thing about Point of View RV Resort is the view.
Situated right on the water, with three docks, a boat launch, a private beach area, sitting areas, a game room with pool table and air hockey, tiki bars and a waterfront heated swimming pool, this place doesn’t fail to deliver. There’s even multiple long, tree-lined, fenced, mulched dog runs for your four-legged friends. The most of Key Largo (including the best burger in the keys) is walkable from the resort, and there’s a decent wide bike lane and bike path that takes you along much of Route 1. The staff is accommodating and friendly and make the experience even more enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a great place to spend some time legitimately relaxing in the Keys, with a beautiful setting and the true amenities of a resort, be sure to take a look at the Point of View RV Resort in Key Largo. From a couple of beer lovers who travel frugally, this is a great place to splurge.
